Welcome to our website!

DWKC is the official women’s democratic group of Kendall County. Formed in April 2017, DWKC empowers women to promote Democratic values in our community and beyond by organizing campaigns and events; supporting local, state, and national candidates; supporting businesses and charities that benefit our communities; and by promoting equal rights, quality education, and environmental protection.

 About

Mission Statement

DWKC empowers women to promote Democratic values in our community and beyond by organizing campaigns and events; supporting local, state, and national candidates; supporting businesses and charities that benefit our communities; and by promoting equal rights, quality education, and environmental protection.

History

The 2016 Presidential election left many people feeling helpless, hopeless, and disappointed. However, it also motivated people to become involved on a local level.  Now, more than ever, there is a tremendous need for grassroots activism, advocacy, and involvement. The DWKC was formed by local women who realized their voices were important, their actions could make change, and it was up to them to become involved.

Our initial meeting in April of 2017 drew in a handful of excited and energetic women.  The next meeting was larger and it became clear that by uniting and working together, the Democratic Women of Kendall County could not only fill this void, but provide like-minded individuals a space to put their energy to work. Democrats can no longer quietly reside in Kendall. We need to make our presence known, to volunteer in our community as Democrats, to host Candidates, to support local Democrats as they run, and to provide a sense of community for all Democrats and Progressives.
